The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results will be released by the end of July. This confirmation came from John Kapi, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, during an interview on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News on Tuesday, June 17.
According to Mr. Kapi, the marking and results processing for the BECE is about to commence, and WAEC is confident that everything is on track to meet the scheduled release date.
“We are now going to sort out and do our marking, but certainly by the end of July the results should be out,” Mr. Kapi assured.
This announcement will bring relief to thousands of BECE candidates and parents eagerly awaiting the results.
Reflecting on the overall conduct of the exams, Mr. Kapi commended WAEC for ensuring a smooth and fair examination process across the country. He emphasized that the Council had done a commendable job in fulfilling its mandate.
“On our part, we will pat ourselves on the back and say that we did a good job,” he stated. “Every candidate had access to the necessary resources such as stationery and examination questions.”
Despite the overall success, Mr. Kapi admitted there were a few logistical challenges. These included a vehicle breakdown during question paper delivery and delays in some areas due to poor road conditions. However, he assured the public that these issues were addressed immediately to prevent disruptions.
“In one instance, a vehicle broke down during delivery. But additional vehicles were dispatched, and papers were delivered on time for the remaining days,” he noted. The timely release of BECE results is crucial for the Ghana Education Service (GES) to initiate the senior high school (SHS) placement process. With results expected by late July, candidates can expect a smooth transition into SHS without unnecessary delays
WAEC’s commitment to releasing the 2025 BECE results on time is a positive development for students, parents, and educators across Ghana. As we await the official results, stakeholders can be assured of a transparent and efficient process.
